The North American Chinese Medical Physicists Association (NACMPA) and the Chinese Society of Medical Physics in Taiwan (CSMPT) are jointly organizing this scientific conference to be held on June 21 - 22, 2008 in Taipei, Taiwan. The goals are two fold. One is to create an opportunity for the medical physicists, physicians, radiobiologists and biomedical researchers from Asian-Pacific countries to meet and to learn from each other's experiences. The other is to promote clinical medical physics as a profession and to foster closer collaborations in medical imaging and cancer therapy between physicists, physicians and academicians in these countries. Professionals from Asian-Pacific countries, who are specialized in diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, computer technology, and radiation safety/protection are cordially invited to present their work in didactic and scientific sessions, so as to maximize the learning experience for the participants of the conference, to inspire further collaborative research and developments in these countries, and to improve the quality of patient care through closer involvements of medical physicists. |
